- Our Story
More Than a Pageant—A Platform for Change
The Miss Trans Global Philippines organization is a community-led and driven effort to stage a pageant that is reflective of the struggles and strength of every transpinay. We are composed of various members of the LGBTIQ+ community and is trans-led. We envision a society wherein every person is respected and afforded the dignity and quality of life they deserve.
As such, we do not exist just to be a pageant alone, but also as a platform for action and advocacy. This is exemplified by our existing partnerships with various community-based and grassroots organizations. With the Society of Trans Women of the Philippines, we are able to conduct and hold gender sensitivity trainings, specifically on issues that affect the trans community. Our partnership with LADLAD Partylist has created the Tabang LADLAD project which is a community outreach program that demonstrates how the LGBTIQ+ community can take part in community building and strengthening efforts.

Here’s a breakdown of our position and advocacy:
Partners for equality
These are the partners who walk with us in the journey of representation and visibility.

The Society of Trans Women of the Philippines (STRAP) is a pioneering support and advocacy organization dedicated to the rights and well-being of transpinays—Filipina transgender women and transfeminine individuals. Established in December 2002, STRAP holds the distinction of being the first and longest-running organization of its kind in the Philippines.

The Philippine LGBT Chamber of Commerce (PLCC) is a pioneering organization dedicated to promoting the contributions of the LGBT+ community within the Philippine business landscape. Established in 2016, it serves as an inter-industry network of businesses owned, led, or allied with LGBT+ individuals, aiming to foster inclusivity and economic development nationwide.

Ladlad is a pioneering political party in the Philippines dedicated to advocating for the rights and welfare of the LGBT+ community. Founded on September 1, 2003, by Danton Remoto, Ladlad—meaning "to come out" in Filipino—has been instrumental in bringing LGBT+ issues to the forefront of Philippine politics.

Host City
The City of Baguio has been selected as the host city for this year’s Miss Trans Global Philippines pageant week. Known as the Summer Capital of the Philippines, Baguio City is one of the major cities in the Philippines that has passed its Anti-Discrimination Ordinance (ADO). It is one of the primary reasons as to why the city has been considered to host the pageant–for their commitment to equal opportunities and nondiscrimination on the basis of one’s SOGIESC.
